About
Chandler was born and raised in Seffner, Florida, just minutes from McCormicks Cable Park where he learned to ride when he was 12 years old. His father, Chris Powell, competed in the first ever wakeboard competition (then called ski-boarding) and came in second place, behind WWA co-founder Shannon Starling.
Chandler never had any professional coaching but rode at the cable park everyday with riders like Alex Graydon and Hunter Hanson, who helped him improve his riding. In 2013, after only four years of wakeboarding, Chandler landed the first ever legit (no pre-spin) 1260 and was nominated for Trick of the Year.
2014 was Chandler's break-out year, winning the overall Triple Crown title for Features Only and a top 3 finish in Wake Park World Series. In the beginning of 2015 Chandler began dating Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi, who he met while taking a tour of the Australia Zoo. The two continue dating to this day as Chandler splits time between Australia and America.
