About

Early Life
Julian was born in California in 1991 and moved to Florida only a few years later where he would learn to wakeboard. Growing up in Orlando gives any wakeboarder a huge advantage with so many talented professional riders and coaches living in the area. Julian turned pro at only 14 years old and became the first rider to land a 1080 in a pro cable competition. While most people know Julian as a cable rider, most people would be surprised at his incredible talent behind the boat as well.

Double-Flip Injury
In 2007 Julian suffered one of the most severe wakeboarding injuries the world had seen up to that point. Double-flips had only been landed by a few professional riders but Julian knew he wanted to land one too. On a fairly cloudy day at Orlando Watersport Complex, Julian tried a double-flip, opened up too early, landing straight-legged as his left knee folded backwards, tearing every ligament in his knee. He would then have to have emergency surgery on his left knee, only to find out a few days later that he had also torn ligaments in his right knee. Julian spent the next 4 months in a wheel-chair and doctors told him that it would be unlikely he would ever wakeboard again. After nearly two years of rehab Julian was back on his feet running and biking and decided to try to get back on a wakeboard. Julian was determined to regain his status as one of the elite riders in the world and he succeeded by winning the same contest he blew his knee out, just two years before.

Present
In 2013 Jobe made Julian's first ever pro-model board named the "Conflict", which is now one of the most popular cable boards in the world. Julian competes in competitions all over the world trying to push the sport of wakeboarding in every way he can. When Julian is not competing, he spends most of his time coaching his younger brother Yonel, who just became the first rider to land a 1080 eight different ways. Both Julian and Yonel are both very entertaining riders on and off the water as they love to joke around and make funny videos to post on Instagram or Facebook. Be sure to follow Julian and Yonel in the upcoming season as you never know that new trick they'll land next!
